Student Updates: StuCo and VEX IQ
Student Council Updates
By Sophia L., StuCo Reporter
I have been attending weekly StuCo meetings to document what they have been working on recently. I wish to share consistent updates with the Concordia community on what StuCo has planned until June.

StuCo meetings on Monday, discussion in progress!
Coming Up:

Newsletter for Students by Students
One of the student representatives, Jake S., came up with the idea of creating a newsletter for MS students. Jake and his team of newsletter writers will be sharing their first one in February. Students can look forward to reading one and also learning ways of contributing to it in the very near future!

MS Spring Social
StuCo is preparing for their second social 25-26 school year in April! Jake shared his thoughts to express his excitement. Jake said, “For the Spring Social, I’m looking forward to making new rooms for the social, like escape rooms. I feel like we should be shaking up the MS Social experience, because it usually is, basically, just a talent show, movie, free choice, and open gym. I really want to create an event that makes the students go “That was pretty cool,” and make them look forward to the next social event. I want to walk down the halls and into random classrooms to see students talking, playing, and having fun while they are in middle school. This is why I’m trying to bring up new ideas during meetings, and we are collecting lots of opinions from our MS student body, so students can have a school social where they’ll make memories for the rest of the year.” As a FOCUS article writer who has heard the behind-the-scenes story on StuCo’s planning process, I am very excited and looking forward to it.
MS StuCo Officer Elections
In the horizon, MS will be having our 26-27 official elections before the end of the school year. StuCo is actively planning for it as well. Stay tuned for more details to come!
Until next time, hope you enjoy StuCo’s group photo!

Students Reflect on VEX IQ Regionals
By Stanley C., Jinyi L., and Anila C.
Last weekend, we went to the regional competition at Wellington for Vex IQ. Over the past six months, we have been working on creating our own unique robot, overcoming challenges, and working together with our alliances during the matches. We would like to say that although we have faced so many challenges along the way, including having to fix the robot on the spot before our next match, it’s been a memorable experience. Now that we have our national finals in less than two weeks, we are excited!
