Player Reflects on the Boys Volleyball Season
By Jason K., Grade 8
Our middle school boys volleyball team this season could probably be summed up in three words: effort, energy, and a lot of laughs. All 14 of us came in with one big goal to have fun, show great sportsmanship, and compete against other international schools in SISAC, and honestly, we feel like we nailed it. From early practices to game days, we pushed each other to improve, celebrated the small wins (like finally getting that perfect serve over the net), and learned how to play as a team. Whether we were winning points or scrambling to keep the ball alive, the vibe stayed positive and supportive the whole way through.

Our final tournament on March 13th was the perfect ending to the season. Every single player got the chance to step on the court and contribute, which made it feel like a true team effort. I think a lot of our success came from the foundation we built earlier in the year during our Net and Wall unit and through intramurals, where many of us first learned the basics and started to build confidence. By the time the tournament rolled around, we weren’t just a group of players, we were a team that trusted each other, competed hard, and most importantly, had a great time doing it. A big thank you to our coaches, Coach Baker, Coach Andy, and Coach Newell, for making it such a fun and positive season.
